About Kenosha Education Association

The Kinder Bill Signing

The Kenosha Education Association (KEA) is a member driven organization consisting of over 2,400 education professionals that are employed by the Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD).

Membership consists of pre-kindergarten through grade 12 teachers, which includes: regular, special education, resource, Head Start, and Bilingual/English as a second language teachers; nurses; librarians; guidance counselors; social workers; school psychologists; education support professionals; substitute teachers; carpenters and painters. The KEA is the third largest organization of its kind in the state of Wisconsin.

By working directly with Kenosha's 21,500 public school children, the KEA membership creates the foundation through which both the short and long term needs of Kenosha's students are met.

Because student needs are not only met through the dedication, talent, and knowledge of the teachers and support personel that work directly with the students, the KEA works to improve the administrative and school funding components of public education when needed.

The KEA represents the public policy, labor and professional interests of its members and is a strong advocate for the children in the Kenosha, Somers, and Pleasant Prairie public schools.

The KEA Structure

The KEA follows the constitution, bylaw, and policy documents that have been approved by its membership. The KEA's policy making body is its representative assembly which meets monthly. Each building elects one representative for every 15 members. This policy insures that all opinions can be heard by the assembly and that all policy decisions have the approval of the membership.
